Benefits of the Clarisonic Pro at Warthan Dermatology Center

With so many technology advances in our world, it's no wonder that skincare is adapting the use of technology into it's regimen. Clarisonic has developed a line of cleansing tools to benefit both men and women of all ages.

At Warthan Dermatology Center, we offer several items from the brand including the Pro, Mia, Opal, and Body Brush. We also offer several different brush types, depending on your skin type. This is a product that is Dermatologist recommended, in fact, we use it too! This image is from Clarisonic, showing the difference of using a Clarisonic versus traditional cleansing methods:

The brush we want to educate you on today is the Clarisonic Pro. This brush is equipped with 4 speeds to tailor your cleansing time exactly to suit your needs. It also include a charging cradle, a sensitive brush head and a body brush head. So really, Iit's like 2 brushes in 1!.You can also use your own cleanser on this brush, which is nice, because everyone has different skin care goals.

Whether you are fighting acne or wrinkles this is a great option for you! The Clarisonic system removes 6x more makeup and 2x more dirt than traditional cleaning techniques. It also reduces the appearance of fine lines, wrinkles and pore sizes. Stop by our office to pick up this system for yourself, or give us a call to answer more of your questions.

Reasons to Visit Warthan Dermatology Center

There are many reasons to visit a Dermatology office. Some reasons may be obvious and others you may be surprised to know that your doctor can assist you with such needs. If you have unwanted scarring, your doctor can recommend products and procedures that aren't available everywhere. If you have sun damage, or environmental damage you want to erase, visit a Dermatologist. If you have too much hair, the doctor can perform Laser Hair Removal (usually purchased in packages for best results). Not enough hair? Your doctor carries lines that aren't available over the counter, such as Rogaine, Latisse, and RevitaLash, RevitaBrow, and RevitaHair. Plus, your doctor can monitor how you are doing on these products and adjust your regimen as needed. If you have unwanted tattoos, your doctor can help to erase it with minimal damage and control any pigmentation issues. If you have dilated blood vessels, your doctor can minimize these with special procedures, and if you have pigmentation issues, a Dermatologist is the most knowledgeable in correcting these.

If you're in the area and need help with any of these issues, Dr. Mandy L. Warthan, Dr. Molly M. Warthan, Lindsay McClauley P.A.-C MSPAS, and our Aesthetician Ann Marie Albracht would love to help you!

Mohs 101

Mohs surgery, also known as Mohs micrographic surgery, is a precise surgical technique for removing several types of skin cancers. During Mohs surgery, layers of cancer-containing skin are progressively removed and examined until only cancer-free tissue remains. When performed by Dr. Molly Warthan, Mohs surgery offers maximum removal of cancer with minimum damage to surrounding healthy tissue. Mohs surgery is often cited as having the highest cure rate for the most common type of skin cancer, basal cell carcinoma. It’s also highly effective for recurrent basal cell carcinoma and offers the highest cure rate for the cancers as well. Visit us at Warthan Dermatology, and receive the highest care from our very own Mohs surgeon, Dr. Molly Warthan.

Benefits of Laser Hair Removal

Laser hair removal is a technique that uses beams of highly concentrated light to penetrate the hair follicles. The light is absorbed by pigment in the hair follicles and destroys the hair within the follicle. Next to Botox injections, laser hair removal is the most commonly performed cosmetic procedure in the U.S.

Lasers are useful for removing unwanted hair from the face, leg, arm, underarm, and bikini line as well as other areas where unsightly hair is a problem. Benefits of laser hair removal include precision, speed, and predictability.  Lasers can selectively target dark, coarse hairs while leaving the surrounding skin undamaged. Each pulse of the laser takes a fraction of a second and can treat many hairs at the same time. The laser can treat an area approximately the size of a quarter every second. Small areas such as the upper lip can be treated in less than a minute, and large areas, such as the back or legs, may take up to an hour. Ninety percent of patients have permanent hair loss after an average of three to five sessions.

If this is a treatment option you are considering, we recommend scheduling a consultation to see if this treatment will be successful for you based on the opinion of a trained and certified professional. At Warthan Dermatology, we want the best results for you!
